Whether you’re hosting friends or looking for a quick, easy cocktail to make, the Classic Moscow Mule is a great classic cocktail that anyone can make (and should know how!). Not only is it one of the most popular cocktails in the U.S., but it’s shouldn’t come as a surprise that it’s one of a bartender’s basics, just like a Classic Gin & Tonic.
The Classic Moscow Mule can be prepared with a few different proportions, but the key ingredients are always the same: vodka, ginger beer, lime juice, and ice. A Classic Moscow Mule is generally served in a copper mug with a lime wedge as a garnish. If you don’t have a copper mug, you can use a highball glass. This post contains affiliate links.
Classic Moscow Mule Cocktail
The best part about this classic 3-ingredient recipe, that i’s very easy. And if you have preferences as to your proportions, it’s very easy to adjust. It’s extremely hard to make a bad Moscow Mule, even if you’ve never mixed a drink in your life.
However, as with any recipe (food or drink) the quality of those ingredients will make a notable difference in your final cocktail. I won’t tell you what you can and can’t buy, but I can tell you that I never buy the cheapest options. My recommendations typically are Tito’s for a high-quality middle-of-the-road vodka, and if I”m in the mood for something a bit higher-end, Ketel One or Grey Goose, and if I’m feeling like a high roller, I’ll throw down for Crystal Head.
