These Falcon and Winter Soldier Cupcakes are the perfect treat to enjoy while you watch our new favorite series streaming on Disney+, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. These cupcakes are styled like our favorite Minnie Bow Cupcakes complete with a fun Falcon and Winter Soldier Cupcake theme.
Falcon and Winter Soldier Cupcakes
Makes 22 Cupcakes
Ingredients: Falcon and Winter Soldier Cupcakes
Marvel Sprinkles Ingredients
- 1 pkg Red Wilton sprinkles pack
- 1 pkg Silver Wilton sprinkles pack
- 1 pkg Black Wilton sprinkles pack
Fondant Ears and Bow Ingredients
- 1 package of black fondant
- 1 package of gray fondant
- 1 package red fondant
- 1 can of red cake spray
- 1 can of silver cake spray
- Wilton fondant bow mold
- 3-inch circle fondant cutter
- 1-inch star stencil
- 1 tube of red cookie icing
- disposable piping bag with #2 tip
Falcon and Winter Soldier Cupcake Ingredients
- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs room temp
- 1/2 cup of softened unsalted sweet cream butter
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
- cupcake liners
- cupcake pan
Vanilla Frosting Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 5-7 tbsp. heavy whipping cream
- 2 tsp. Pure vanilla extract
- 1 large piping bag with large star tip
- 1 medium ice cream scooper
Directions: Falcon and Winter Soldier Cupcakes
Marvel Sprinkles Directions
- Combine all sprinkles packages into a large bowl and mix.
Fondant Ears and Bow Directions
- Sprinkle some powder sugar onto a cutting board.
- Roll out the black and gray fondant into 1/4 inch thickness and cut out 24 3-in circles of each fondant for the ears. This will give you 48 circles total, 24 black and 24 gray.
- Using the silver cake spray, spray the circles to give a shimmering effect.
- Using the gray fondant circles, place the star stencil over the circles and lightly spray the red cake spray.
- Allow stars to dry.
- Squeeze the red cookie icing into the piping bag.
- Using the red icing, pipe out the Falcon’s logo on the black fondant circles.
- Allow black fondant circles to dry overnight.
Making the Bows:
- Powder your hands with powder sugar and mold the red fondant into a ball
- Pinch off 1 teaspoon size ball of fondant and press it into the larger bow size mold
- Make 22 bows then set them aside to dry out overnight
Vanilla Frosting Directions
- Using a standing mixer combine the butter, powdered sugar, heavy whipping cream, vanilla and mix on medium speed until combined and smooth.
- Scoop 1 cup of frosting into the piping bag.
Falcon and Winter Soldier Cupcakes Baking Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a cupcake pan with the cupcake liners.
- In a medium bowl, beat the cake mix, eggs, butter, and milk until smooth and combined.
- Fill cupcake liners 3/4 of the way full.
- Bake in the oven for about 21 minutes.
- Pull out the cupcakes and allow them to cool before frosting.
Falcon and Winter Soldier Cupcake Decorating Directions
- Using the ice cream scooper, scoop out a small amount of frosting onto the top of the cupcake.
- Use a knife and spread the frosting into a thick disk.
- Coat the frosting in the sprinkle mixture.
- Pipe a dollop of frosting into the middle.
- Carefully place a red bow in the center of the frosting.
- Carefully place two “ears” (one of each fondant circle) on the sides of the bow.
