We're so in love with these adorable Hocus Pocus Cupcakes for the 25th Anniversary Edition of Hocus Pocus. They're the perfect treat for your Hocus Pocus viewing party. After all, it’s just a bunch of hocus pocus to whip these up. Hocus Pocus Cupcakes
Makes 22 Cupcakes
Ingredients
Cupcake Ingredients
- 1 box of Triple chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs room temperature
- 1/2 cup of unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tbsp. pure vanilla extract
- black cupcake liners
- cupcake pan
Cupcake Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Line cupcake pan with the black cupcake liners
- In a medium bowl, add the cake mix, butter, milk, and vanilla extract and stir until combined.
- Fill cupcake liners 3/4 of the way full.
- Bake in the oven for about 21 minutes.
- Pull out the cupcakes and allow to cool before frosting.
Frosting Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 2 1/2 cups powder sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3–5 tbsp. heavy whipping cream
- Leaf Green gel food coloring
- 1 disposable piping bag with a medium round tip
- 2 bags of Celebration Green and Purple Shimmer Gumballs, large
- 2 bags of Sixlets, green and purple picked out
- 3 bags of medium size nonpareils sprinkles from Walmart
- 22 mini pretzel sticks
Frosting Directions
- Using a stand mixer, combine all ingredients and mix on medium speed.
- Mix until you see stiffed peaks in your frosting.
- Mix in a few drops of the green food coloring and continue to mix until fully combined
- Scoop frosting into a piping bag
- Frost cooled cupcakes
Decorating Directions:
- Using the gumballs, place 3 into the frosting
- Randomly place about 6–7 purple and green Sixlets into the frosting
- Sprinkle a small handful of the nonpareils onto the frosting
- Place a pretzel stick into the frosting for the stir stick
- Enjoy!
