Royal Icing Directions

  1. Using a stand mixer, combine the egg whites, cream of tartar, powdered sugar, and vanilla and mix on medium speed until stiff peaks form.

  2. Split the icing into three bowls.
  3. In one bowl, add a few drops of the leaf green food coloring and mix until combined.
  4. Scoop some icing into a piping bag and set aside.
  5. Add about 2–3 tbsp. of cold water to the bowl and mix until combined. This will thin out the icing so that it will be easier to flat ice the cookies.
  6. Pour thinned icing into a squeeze bottle and set aside.
  7. In another bowl, add a few drops of black food coloring and mix until combined. Add a few more drops of food coloring to get the shade of black that you want.
  8. Scoop some icing into a piping bag and set aside.
  9. Add about 2–3 tbsp. of cold water into the remaining black icing and mix until combined.
  10. Pour into a squeeze bottle and set aside.
  11. Scoop some white icing into a piping bag and set aside.

Decorating directions

  1. Using the black marker, draw a small circle onto the cookie about 1 centimeter from the edge of the cookie. This is where you will be filling in with your green icing.
  2. Using the green piping bag, pipe a line around the smaller circle.
  3. Fill in with the thinned icing.
  4. Using the green piping bag, pipe dots around the edge of the green circle.
  5. Let dry for an hour.
  6. Using the black piping bag, pipe dots in between the green dots.
  7. Using the black icing, pipe an outline for Hulk’s face onto the center of the green circle.
  8. Fill in the part for his hair.
  9. Using the white piping bag, pipe on dots for the eyes and fill in the small part for the mouth.
  10. Using the black piping bag, pipe on smaller dots for the pupils.
  11. Let cookies dry for about 2 hours before enjoying.
