One of the best parts of visiting a city for a conference is getting to explore a city and their eateries. Seattle, WA, is one of my favorite places for visiting since it’s such a foodie city. Seattle is full of amazing restaurants and bars just waiting to entice you with delectable treats and crafts cocktails. Whenever I get to Seattle, I like to be able to spend a little time in the city just to experience the food. Last month I headed up for the International Food Bloggers Conference a day early for the sole purpose eating and drinking my way through the city for Happy Hour, which is exactly what I did.
Palamino Restaurant and Bar
The Palamino Restaurant and Bar has a fabulous Happy Hour menu. Affordable filling with tons of options, including things that work well for my friend Sara who is gluten free. Basil Gimlets, Caramelized Cauliflower, Pumpkin Seed Pesto, Hummus and Pita to die for.
RN74
Michael Mina’s RN74 was another great stop. We had the Cocktail du Jour from the Happy Hour menu, a bourbon concoction whose name escapes me, but delightful nonetheless. We were pretty full still from our appetizer adventures at Palamino so we just grabbed a cocktail.
Hard Rock Cafe
It’s a Hard Rock Cafe. It’s iconic and exactly what you expect. It’s got a fun layout and a great rooftop bar, although iy was raining so we didn’t get to sit outside. We listened to an acoustic show for a bit, enjoyed a Strawberry Basil Lemonade, grabbed a souvenir martini and mason jar for my collection and moved along to the next stop.
Elysian Bar
Full stop for drinks and dinner at the Elysian Bar. Starting with an Angel’s Kiss, and then grabbing some incredible eats: Beer Knot Pretzels, Caprese Heirloom Tomato and Fresh Mozzarella, Grilled Asparagus with Warm Goat Cheese Vinaigrette and Pequillo Peppers. So good.
So if you’re headed to Seattle, these are just a few of my faves that you can stop in for great Happy Hour specials.

Looks like a lot of great happy hour options! Makes me wonder if there’s a basil trend on the horizon… ? 🙂
I’ve had quite a few basil cocktails lately. And I don’t mind because I do love basil. 😉
