Summertime means more time to play, less time for work. That means you want to spend less time doing hair, make-up, and the like, too. This summer, how about using these 5 summer beauty tips to simplify your beauty routine, which will give your more time to spend doing the things you love in the summer, like the beach, the pool, and time with your family.

5 Summer Beauty Tips + Hacks

Skip the blow dry

It’s hot and your hair needs a break from the daily blow-dry treatment. Blow drying your hair day in and day out is damaging and time-consuming. Shampoo and condition it with a product like Pantene Advanced Care Shampoo & Conditioner, let it air dry, and be done. In addition to the fact that you’ll save yourself loads of time, your hair will be so much healthier by not blow drying it. Your dry, damaged hair will thank you.

Love the updo

It’s summer and it’s hot. Love the updo. Rock the updo. You don’t need your hair hanging in and sticking to your face. Pull your hair up in a quick twist with a hair clip or ponytail keeper and voila! A silk scarf makes for a fun tie on your updo. Find an updo that works for you and own it. I have a hair clip that I use many days of the year (I’m a pretty low-maintenance gal) and I just rock a slightly messier look in the summer.

5 Summer Beauty Tips + Hacks

Have a spa day

Okay, not really but it seems like it. The new Gillette Venus Spa Razor is almost like a day at the spa. It leaves your legs feeling silky smooth and so soft it’s like I spent an afternoon at the spa getting a treatment! The secret is that the shave gel is built into the strip on the razor. When you add water the, the gel releases and foams up adding the shave gel as you go. Genius! And on my last trip to Costco, I even saved $5 on my pack of Gillette Venus Spa Razors.

Cool the sunburn

For sunburns, make ice cubes of aloe vera. You’ll have premade portions and they’ll be cool and soothing. Obviously, it’s better to make sure you use your sunscreen and not get a sunburn in the first place, but let’s face it, sometimes we miss a few spots or forget to reapply. The aloe vera ice cubes are fabulous!

Detangle it

Conditioner makes a great detangler. Mix some of your Pantene Advanced Care Conditioner from Costco with water (about 1:9 ratio) in a spray bottle to help detangle that crazy hair (yours or your daughter’s). It’s a much less expensive alternative to some of the spendy detanglers on the market.

5 Summer Beauty Tips + Hacks

My tip is make your own leave in hair conditioner! I use a small spray bottle and add 1 capfull of conditioner and 3 capfulls of water. I shake it up and spray it on my hair. My hair gets so dry from all the swimming in the summer, and this is so easy to do on vacation too with the sample bottles they leave!

Wash the chlorine out of your hair, and stay out of the sun as much as possible. Damage to your skin is bad! A tan isn’t worth it.

It may not sound like a beauty tip at first but stick with me…make sure that you don’t try to do too much in the summer. If you are rushing around from one activity to the next you won’t eat right, hydrate well and you’ll stress yourself out. All of this is super bad for your body and will start to wear on you physically. In short- relax a little!
