It’s Back-to-School time and that means lots of school lunches to be made. My kids prefer to pack their lunches instead of buying lunch because they can get a healthier, tastier option, and let’s face it—peanut butter and jelly gets old after a while.

Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey is nutritious and delicious. It is 98% fat free and lower in sodium.

My kids like the way it tastes, and I like that it’s good for them. Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey premium lunchmeat is made naturally with 100% turkey breast and contains no chemicals, preservatives, artificial ingredients, colors, or added nitrates/nitrites. The Slow Oven Roasted Turkey Breast has 35% less sodium than the average sliced turkey breast. Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey is high in protein and low in fat, with 11g of protein and .5g of fat per serving.

Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey premium lunchmeat is available in two delicious flavors, Slow Oven Roasted Turkey Breast and Honey Roasted & Smoked Turkey Breast. Turkey lunchmeat is a versatile ingredient—it can be used for sandwiches or incorporated into snacks and appetizers. Sometimes we’ll even use it on top of a salad. Sometimes if my kids aren’t in the mood for a sandwich, they will take their lunchmeat and pack “rolls” much like what you’d find on an appetizer tray.

Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey premium lunchmeat is available now at retailers throughout California and the Pacific Northwest, including Safeway, Vons, Raley’s, and select Albertsons.

We buy our Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey premium lunchmeat at Safeway. And our Terra Turkey Sandwich was made on one of the in-store rolls. This easy sandwich is much “fancier” than your standard turkey sandwich and the kids feel like they are getting a treat for school, when in reality, it’s very quick and easy.

Terra Turkey Sandwich

Ingredients

  • Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey, 2 slices
  • Terra Roll
  • Mayonnaise, about 1 tbsp.
  • Tomato, 3 or 4 thinly sliced pieces
  • Lettuce, 4 or 5 leaves (we used the larger pieces of the lettuce in our mixed green salad mix)

Directions

Slice the tomato into thin slices and set aside. Carefully slice the edge of the turkey off the turkey slices if your child doesn’t like the colored edges like one of mine (she asks the same of cucumbers, too).

Slice the roll open and spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on both side of the roll. On the bottom half layer two slices of turkey, followed buy the lettuce, and the tomato and close the roll.
