Hog Wild ZipStix are a fun new toy for kids ages 4 and up. The ZipStix come in varying size packs of ZipStix, Crash Cones, and Launcher combinations. there are also packs that include Kicker Ramps and Quarter Pips for fancier tricks.
The Starter Pack comes with everything you need to get started: one ZipStix and one launcher. We had the most fun with the 2 Pack, which includes two ZipStix, three Crash Cones, and one Launcher. We weren’t skilled enough to get much use our of the Kicker Ramp, but maybe we’ll get there.
ZipStix: Lock, Load, and Launch
All four of the kids (and mom and dad) played with the ZipStix. To use them, first you take both ends of the stick and flex it into the locked position. You can actually hear a clicking sound when it locks. Then you align the stick on the launcher. There is a hole in the ZipStix that lines up with a peg on the launcher (you can see the hole at the top of the ZipStix in the photo above). When you’re ready, you hold down the launcher with one hand. Gently push down on the end of the ZipStix (with the other hand) until the stick begins to curl, and then you release your finger to launch (see photo below).
This part can be tricky, as it takes a few times to figure out how to perfectly pull your hand away to release the stick. It’s fun to see how far you can make the ZipStix go and how many cones you can knock over in the process.
