In the new series “The Garcias” on HBO Max, the original “The Brothers Garcia” reprise their roles for nostalgic fans everywhere.

Six cast members from the original “The Brothers Garcia” series return to reprise their roles in “The Garcias”—Ada Maris (as Sonia Garcia), Carlos Lacamara (as Ray Garcia), Alvin Alvarez (as Larry Garcia), Jeffrey Licon (as Carlos Garcia), Bobby Gonzalez (as George Garcia), Vaneza Pitynski (as Lorena Garcia).

“It’s not all Latino. It’s also Korean. It’s a slice of America,” said Jeff Valdez, Executive Producer of “The Garcias.”

The original 6 cast members are joined by new cast members Oliver Alexander (Max Garcia), Nitzia Chama (Ana Garcia), Paul Rodriguez, Jr. (Julian Ramirez), Maeve Garay (Victoria Garcia), Elsha Kim (Yunjin Huh Garcia), Ayva Severy (Andrea Huh Garcia), and Trinity Jo-Li Bliss (Alexa Huh Garcia).

While there is representation on screen, there’s not enough of the right representation, but that isn’t the case with “The Garcias.” “This cast is a representation of who we are in and out of this country and shows us in the most beautiful light,” Bobby Gonzalez, who plays George Garcia, shared during the press day for “The Garcias.”
