I received a media pass for Universal Studios Hollywood. As always, all opinions are my own.

New Family Fun and Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood

Amusement parks are fun with family, friends, and sometimes even on your own! I recently got to spend a day at Universal Studios Hollywood checking out the new rides, updated rides, and seeing the park getting their spooky game on for the 25th annual Halloween Horror Nights.

I played at Universal Studios Hollywood with my blogger pals Jill, Summer, and Ashlee. We had a blast riding rides, taking silly photos, and even recording a few Dubsmashes in the park.

Walking around the theme park, I even got to take photo with characters like Dracula, Homer Simpson, Scooby Doo and Shaggy, and Gru.

Ride the Updated Studio Tour with the Fast & Furious—Supercharged Finale

The Studio Tour is celebrating its 50th anniversary as well as a new finale—the new Fast & Furious—Supercharged attraction, a fun 4-D feature based on the film franchise. The ride incorporates elements of the movie at several points throughout the ride, bringing the movie to life. As always, Jimmy Fallon as the host is a good time and the tram tour guides are great. As you ride along and see sets from movie and TV, you’ll see Norman Bates out and about. He’s always around, but I suspect he’s a little more active for Halloween Horror Nights.

Become a Minion on the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

“Banana”

This ride was fun. All things Minions and Gru are a great time for kids and adults alike. The new Minion ride was a highlight of our day at Universal Studios Hollywood. This new 3-D (plus sensory components) ride simulator takes you through being a new recruit and Minion training in order to become a Minion, and you go inside Gru’s lab with his daughters and get to go on a wild adventure before being turned back into a human.

While you wait in line for the ride, make sure to check out all of the neat details of Gru’s house and lab. The details are what make experiences and attractions like this extra fun! I actually don’t mind waiting a few minutes because I get to look around an absorb all of the fine details that make up the experience. I only wished my kids had been with me for this ride. Last night at dinner my oldest daughter said, “Minions are better than money.” That’s how much she likes Minions. She’s hilarious.

Special Effects Stage

Seeing how special effects have changed over the years and how special effects are done in general is always fascinating to me. This entertaining show will give you a behind-the-scenes look at how special effects are done in the movies and amuse you at the same time. Audience interaction in a part of the fun, so if you are lucky and willing, you might even get pulled up on stage to be a part of the show!

Coming Soon: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

We were able to see part of the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter that is under construction. I can’t wait for that to open in Spring 2016. We looked in the store and look a few pics of what I can see being built and it’s going to be fun!

The park was bring set up for the 25th annual Halloween Horror Nights while I was there, which is open now through November 1. This was so much fun! I especially loved the Despicable Me ride. The set up for the Halloween Horror night is perfect for a Walking Dead theme. Love how great your picture of getting your head chopped off looks. We will have to do this again some time!
