Well, I did it. Participated, that is. I didn’t finish. Ran out of time. Life happens, and while it was fun to try, I only got to a little over 8,000 words (don’t laugh, I’m aware that it’s only about 10 pages). But it’s the most writing I’ve done, short of giant academic research papers. Next year, I’ll get a few more words completed, and maybe in a few years, I’ll actually hit 50,000 words. I can live without having completed a novel. For now.
Congrats to my friend Adam (who did finish) and to all the other writers out there that participated and or finish a novel. It’s a huge accomplishment.
