391974_10152362022730122_106987296_nI love Christmas and the holiday season. Just as much as Halloween, but for other reasons. A favorite holiday tradition is watching movies that invoke nostalgia. Here’s my short list of movies that fit the bill. In no specific order. I recommend you watch them all, in any order you like.

A Christmas Story. Possibly the BEST Christmas movie ever. Ever. And the little boy looks exactly like my uncle did when he was that age.

Home Alone. Nothing is funnier than a movie about some 8-year-old boy that accidentally got left at home. I have 4 kids, so that could be one of mine someday.

The Grinch. The original cartoon version. Way better than the remake with actors and a classic.

A Charlie Brown Christmas. Um, that little, sad Charlie Brown Christmas tree is an icon.

It’s a Wonderful Life. Classic. ‘Nuf said.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. If you don’t like Clark Griswold, I believe there is something wrong with you.

The Nightmare Before Christmas. One of my all-time favorite movies, and not just at Christmas. Tim Burton is a genius.

The Polar Express. This movie has such a great message for kids. One of our family favorites and we watch it every year. At least once.

Love Actually. I watch this movie at least once a year, and usually not at Christmas. Such a great chick flick.

Do you have any favorite holiday movies?

I love all the classics, especially with Bing Crosby. And surprisingly I have never actually seen The Nightmare Before Christmas so that is going on the Netflix lineup. Also, I am more of a syrah mommy but as long as it’s red… Thanks for the fun post.

Home alone is my favorite Christmas movie. Even though I’m a grown woman I could laugh for hours. Now it’s great because I can watch my kids enjoy it 🙂
