Do you and your family love the great outdoors? My family and I certainly do. In fact, for #ForestFriday yesterday we hiked in British Columbia while on vacation! A new campaign will help make finding local forests and fun forest activities easier than ever before.#forestchat discovertheforest.org

DiscovertheForest.org is a new website featuring and interactive map and other tools to locate nearby forests and parks. You can even filter by zip code and activities. Free outdoor activities are also available for download, so you can take them with you the next time you visit the forest. The website offers various sections where you can learn about the forest and its ecosystem, what to prepare before you go and the rules of the forest, and learning guides to know more about what you’ll be seeing while exploring. While you’re there, make sure to check out some of the breathtaking forest photos people have shared in the Photo Gallery. You’ll be impressed!

Sponsored by the The Forest Service is an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Ad Council, this PSA campaign aims to inspire tweens (aged 8–12) and their families to reconnect with nature and the great outdoors, finding fun ways to help them experience it first hand. The campaign brings to life the joy and excitement kids have when they discover the wonders of nature, helping create interest in and a lifelong relationship with the environment.
