Today’s #NaBloPoMo prompt is “Talk about your favourite photograph.”
This photo has been one of my favorites since I was old enough to remember seing it. In its original form, you can clearly see the joy on both my and my father’s faces (it’s kind of small here to see the detail well). I grew up playing in that front yard, climbing the tree you can see in the photo, and another that is just to the left, whose branches are all you can see. I remember building snow forts in that very spot where the sled is, years later.
This photo invokes such strong and vibrant memories, both from this day and from many others throughout my childhood. My dad passed a way a few years ago from pancreatic cancer. This is only one of many fond memories, one that can even bring a glint to my eye.
