If you haven’t tried BarkBox, you may want to know what’s in a Bark Box? Our dog, Ali, loves it. We’ve been subscribed for 2 months, and the second box was even better than the first. I admit I was concerned about what products would be included, as Ali has some major allergies and skin issues and takes an immunosuppressant to help. She’s on a special diet, but most of the products that we’ve gotten fit within that diet because they are quality and not jammed full of filler crap.
What’s in a Bark Box?
Each month, we get a box in the mail filled with 4 to 6 carefully selected doggie treats, toys, and hygiene products. Here’s what was in our last box:
- Multipet Nuts for Knots Rope toy
- Etta Says Duck Meat Treat
- Groom Me me wipes
- Licks vitamin supplements
- Etta Says Crunchy Duck Chews
- BarkWorthies Free Range, Grass Fed chew bone
- discounts for some other products online
Ali was so excited for her new knot toy, she didn’t even wait until it was out of the package to start playing with it.
How it works
BarkBox has different packages for different dogs and budgets. You choose your dog size and then choose your plan. Ali is a 70-pound American Staffordshire Terrier rescue, so we chose the “large” box. It’s greta that there are options based on the size of your fur baby. There are different pricing options, but the one we signed up for was a 6-month subscription at $19 a month for the large dog. It was a better rate than a shorter period of time, but I knew that if there were products we didn’t use I could share them with my sister for her dogs or donate them to the local shelter where we rescued our baby.
For a good cause
BarkBox donates at least 10% of its proceeds to doggies-in-need at local shelters and rescue. Being parents of a shelter-rescue fur baby, it’s a cause near and dear to my heart. it makes me happy to support a company and service that gives back. You can also nominate an animal welfare organization for them to consider donating to!
