The Only Wine Book You'll Ever Need is Wine Folly: The Essential Guide to Wine

Order Your Copy of “Wine Folly: The Essential Guide to Wine”

I spent nearly a week with Madeline Puckette of Wine Folly last month in the Finger Lakes region of New York for a Press Trip and the Wine Bloggers Conference. We actually sat on a panel together. Seriously, is it legit to Fan Girl someone you’re on a panel with? I’ve been a huge fan of Madeline’s since 2012, so I was honored to receive a review copy of her new book “Wine Folly: The Essential Guide to Wine.”

When I say this is The Only Wine Book You’ll Ever Need, I’m not kidding. Maybe if you’re a Wine Master or a Master Sommelier, fine, you’ll need a few others, but for anyone reading my site on a regular basis, this is the only book as a guide to basic understanding of wine that you will ever need (unless of course Madeline comes out with another book; then I’m pretty sure you’ll want that one, too).

Red or white? Cabernet or merlot? Light or bold? What to pair with food? Drinking great wine isn’t hard, but finding great wine does require a deeper understanding of the fundamentals. Wine can be complex, but Madeline makes it easily digested and uncomplicated. This book will guide to through the basics of wine tasting, label reading, what’s in your glass, food pairing, more than 50 styles of wine, wine regions, and so much more. One of the things that I have always loved about Madeline’s work is her amazing visuals. She has this intense passion for wine and incredible talent for creating easily understandable and meaningful visuals. As a designer, I envy the way she can explain anything wine in an unassuming visual that makes you say, “Well why didn’t I think of that?” She’s a visual goddess.

Pre-order your copy of “Wine Folly: The Essential Guide to Wine” today, or you’ll be bitter when the pre-order price jumps back up after the book is published.

[…] Start with wines you know/like/love and expand your palate. Wine is very preferential, but there’s still lots to learn. I went to wine school one summer to learn more about wine and got my WSET Level 2 Certificate. My friend Madeline Puckette wrote a fabulous book this year that will give you all the basics you need to know on wine. What I love about Madeline is she puts wine in plain English. No fuss, no muss, no pretense. Easy reading and digesting: The Only Wine Book You’ll Ever Need is Wine Folly: The Essential Guide to Wine. […]
