The period piece MY COUSIN RACHEL with the Academy Award-winner Rachel Weisz and the incredibly talented (and handsome) Sam Claflin is a gorgeous romantic thriller that’s perfect for a date night or an evening out with the girls.

My Cousin Rachel Review
Based on the classic novel by the original queen of romantic thrillers, Daphne Du Maurier, Fox Searchlight’s  MY COUSIN RACHEL is in theatres on June 9, 2017.
The dark romance, MY COUSIN RACHEL tells the story of a young Englishman (Claflin) who plots revenge against his mysterious, beautiful, mesmerizing cousin (Weisz), believing that she murdered his guardian. But his feelings become complicated as he finds himself falling under the beguiling spell of her charms.
Driven by a cross between naivety and misogyny (something that seems to be a family trait), Philip’s revenge turns into an intense passion for his cousin.

“Some women impel disaster. Whatever they touch somehow turns to tragedy,” declares Philip’s godfather Nick Kendall (“Game of Thrones” star Iain Glenn). “Was she? Did she? Didn’t she?” The ambiguity of the tragedy is left up to the audience to decide long after the final credits roll.

The movie swirls with innuendo, seduction, and deceit, as well as passion and hatred. It’s a romantic thriller with a hint of torment.

Directed by: Roger Michell
Screenplay by: Roger Michell
Based on the novel by: Daphne du Maurier
Produced by: Kevin Loader
Cast: Rachel Weisz, Sam Claflin, Holliday Grainger, Iain Glen, Pierfrancesco Favino

I was hoping to see this last night, but missed it. I will be seeing this one when it comes out. It looks pretty good.
