moms night outI had the opportunity to attend a special screening of Moms’ Night Out back in March. As parents—and especially as moms—it’s a movie we can all relate to. Even if you aren’t a mom or dad, you can still laugh at this movie. Or even cry. I laughed out loud, and I teared up. You should definitely check out this movie when it opens on Mother’s Day Weekend 2014. It’s rated PG, but really suitable for the entire family.

The premise is a much-needed moms’ night out got awry. Obviously I have no intention of giving you any spoilers, but just know that you will laugh, and everyone can relate to something in this movie.

Those of us who are moms can appreciate the value of a little needed “me time” now and again. My kids are school-aged now, and I still can’t pee in peace. Someone always needs something. This movie speaks to busy moms trying to juggle the joys of parenthood with the reality of raising beautiful little monsters. As a mom of four, I could easily relate to the vast majority of the movie.

Here’s the quick caveat about this movie. This movie has a fairly strong overtone about God and your relationship with Him. Despite the fact that I’m not very religious, I still loved this movie. If you are offended by talk of religious beliefs in your 2-hour entertainment block, then don’t go see this movie. If you can get past that because you are open minded and can see the value of the message in supporting moms through their journey of being a mother, then most definitely go see this film. I’m certainly not a God-fearing woman, I’m not very religious, and I rarely go to church. I certainly can’t say I believe in any higher power, really, in any form. That’s a conversation we can have another day. I still loved this movie and am hoping to see it with my mom and sister on Mother’s Day (opening) weekend.

About the Movie

MOMS’ NIGHT OUT was created with the simple premise of “Why can’t we have a movie that is fun to watch with the whole family and one which leaves us with a reminder of God’s love?”
