Who doesn’t like a nice selfie with a celebrity or a photo of them from afar? I’m not too proud to admit that the occasional run in and meet-and-greet with stars can be fun. Heck, I have lots of photos of me with famous people.
But when it comes to standing in line for hours to meet a celebrity who shouldn’t even be considered a celebrity is something I refuse to do. I vehemently refuse. Waiting to line to meet Khloe or any other Kardashian is what’s wrong with America and our culture. No wonder countries like Japan are light years ahead of us academically. Khloe does nothing to improve or give back to society. She talks like a baby and she’s famous because her sister made a sex tape? Because her stepdad was a TV star? Because her dad was OJ’s lawyer? Because she is a reality TV star? Because she married a basketball star a month after they met? The list goes on.
You’re telling me that standing in line to get a photo with Khloe was a more valuable and worthwhile experience than listening to the incredibly talented Kerry Washington as a keynote? You have some seriously messed up priorities. Kerry Washington in an intelligent woman who partakes in philanthropic activities. She graduated from George Washington University and was gave a commencement address in 2013. She’s supported organizations such as Lee National Denim Day and currently supports V-day, a global organization bringing awareness to domestic violence against women and girls.
Hmmm…supporting awareness of violence against women and girls or gaining notoriety for having a sibling with a sex tape. I know which one is more important to me as a mother of 3 young girls.
I realize some people had networking only passes and couldn’t listen to the keynotes. Stand in line for whatever you want to get your money’s worth. ROI and all that. But if you skipped Kerry for Khloe, shame on you.
It’s possible I don’t have all the facts. If Khloe is supporting philanthropic efforts, please do comment and enlighten me. I can admit when I’m wrong. Maybe I should have stood in line for a photo with Khloe.

GOOD FOR YOU!!!! I have long said I can not stand that family. They are only famous because their daddy was O.J.s lawyer and their sisters big butt. I agree that they are what is wrong with America. I have heard a rumor that their show is ending in 2015 which would be AMAZING!!!!! The whole family is awful and I wish that would just disappear off the planet. 😀
Love this! Good for you! I would have done the same thing. And I am a total celebrity selfie taker – it’s a blog thing.
She’s the worst.
I agree!! I can’t stand them! They are famous for nothing. They shop and sit around and eat. Whoopie……
I was blown away, and disappointed to see everyone lining up for her. I still can’t believe they’re famous. That shit is embarrassing.
OMG, yes!
Before I started reading I was mentally listing all the reasons she’s “famous”. I wasn’t at BlogHer this year (had a booth last year), but I wouldn’t have wasted a second on that nonsense.
Well said! Going to RT this now. Ha!
Was the line really hours long? That’s crazy. I found it interesting that BlogHer didn’t promote it a lot beforehand, too. I’m a film blogger and KW’s keynote was the one I was most looking forward to hearing at the conference this year.
There were people lined up at noon! And it wrapped around aisles at one point that I saw it. Crazy!
