In honor of the home release of American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story, we had the pleasure to interview Hayden Zaller who portrays the young Zachary Warner in the movie. He was so sweet and had great things to say about his co-stars and mentors when our young reporter Sophie interviewed him.
Hayden Zaller is an incredibly talented young actor. Hayden is blind, and the filmmakers thought it was important to make representation a priority for this role and sought out a blind actor to portray the role of Zack Warner in American Underdog. Hayden knocked it out of the park for his first-ever acting role!

The film centers on Warner’s unique story and years of challenges and setbacks that could have derailed his aspirations to become an NFL player – but just when his dreams seemed all but out of reach, it is only with the support of his wife, Brenda (Anna Paquin) and the encouragement of his family, coaches, and teammates that Warner perseveres and finds the strength to show the world the champion that he already is. American Underdog is an uplifting story that demonstrates that anything is possible when you have faith, family, and determination.
