alvita teaWhile I love my java, I also love a good cup of tea. It’s often the last thing I drink at night…a warm cup of soothing herbal tea to help me get settled in for the night. And as with most everything else in my life, I prefer organic. Alvita Organic Teas offer a variety of herbal teas for your drinking pleasure. Knowing that Alvita has been making teas since 1922 is reassuring…I know they use quality ingredients and care about their legacy and product.

I tried three of Alvita’s 45 varieties, each an herbal remedy to support a healthy body: hibiscus, passionflower, and dandelion. Their teas come in an easy-to-reseal bag with 24 tea bags per bag instead of individually wrapped tea bags, which is better for the environment. Each box also comes with easy brewing instructions so you brew the perfect cup each time.

Dandelion root is traditionally used to support a healthy liver function. That seemed like an obvious choice to try given that I also review and drink a fair amount of wine. 🙂 I love the refreshing tart flavor of hibiscus (have you ever had a candied hibiscus flower in a glass of Champagne? YUM). Hibiscus is also traditionally used to support a the cardiovascular system. Passionflower is a perfect tea at bedtime, as it is known to help ease occasional nervous tension and support restful sleep. As a mom of four kids, I definitely have the occasional (often more-than-occasional) nervous tension.
