Looking for some fantastic bubbles for your holiday celebrations? I love bubbles on all occasions, so I love any excuse to have more bubbly. How about a trying a bottle of Jaillance (Crémant de Bordeaux) Cuvée de l’Abbayé Brut or Jaillance Clairette de Die Cuvée Impériale Tradition for New Year’s Eve?
Jaillance Cuvée de l’Abbayé Brut NV (~$20)
This Crémant de Bordeaux is pale yellow with thousands of fine bubbles. The nose reveals hints of green apples and citrus. Made from 100% Sèmillon grapes, this French sparkling wine reveals citrus aromas on the palate along with a subtle touch almonds and bread.
I loved this drier bubbly. It can easily be sipped on its own or paired with a meal. When my husband and I sampled the Jaillance Cuvée de l’Abbayé Brut, he told me he liked it better than the bottles of Dom Pérignon that I used to get from a previous boss at the holidays. I consider that to be a 5-star review.
Jaillance Clairette de Die Cuvée Impériale Tradition NV (~$20)
The Jaillance Clairette de Die Cuvée Impériale was another amazing bubbly. This one is sweeter that the Jaillance Cuvée de l’Abbayé Brut, but not too sweet. This Muscat is pale gold with tons of very fine bubbles. On the nose there are citrus notes. The palate is creamy yet balanced with a lingering mouth feel. This pairs well with sweet desserts or spicy dishes.
I was given Jaillance wines to review. All opinions about Jaillance wines are my own.
