Arlo Security System with 2 HD Cameras (VMS3230)
Arlo offers 100% weatherproof and wireless home security. The comfort in knowing that I can see what’s going on around the perimeter of our home when I’m not home, especially when my kids are being babysat or my oldest is home alone, is reassuring. Arlo IP cameras offers peace of mind and flexibility in an easy-to-use and easy to set up home security system. The system was so easy to set up and I love how easy it is to use and monitor. The cameras attached to a magnetic mount and connect wirelessly to a base station connected to your WiFi router. It took just a few minutes to set up that station and sync the two cameras I have. In about 10 minutes I had the whole system working.
The flexibility of the camera mounts is wonderful. The ability to easily redirect the angle of the camera so simply is nice. The Arlo cameras offer a special night vision feature so you can capture video without additional lighting. With 850 nanometer LED capabilities and infrared cut-off filters, you can set up your cameras to monitor at night and no additional lighting is needed. The video records in 720 HD with a 110-degree field of view, giving me a clear view of the entrance of my house and the backyard. We don’t have many issues in our neighborhood, and we have a dog, but you never know.
The motion alerts is the coolest feature. When the camera detects motion, it records. I love that cameras don’t just record endlessly using this feature. No one wants to filter through a lifetime of footage, and it saves battery life. The mobile app and desktop access both give you the control you need to determine how often you receive alerts and set the cameras to record. I know I don’t want to record during the day when I’m home, so I can set the alerts to only notify me if the camera detects motion after we’ve gone to bed. But say I’m headed out of town on vacation? I can set the app to alert me with any motion the entire time I’m gone. And I can make those changes on the go from my smartphone, tablet, or computer. I can connect up to 15 cameras and watch up to 4 at once. When my camera detects motion, I get an email with an alert and a secure link to the video so I can see what was detected.
The cameras are weatherproof, so wet or dry, hot or cold, the cameras are designed to withstand the elements. Arlo is designed to handle severe weather from 14 degree Fahrenheit to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.
Overall, I love this product. We only use it for monitoring the entrance to house on the outside, as I’m skittish of the idea of having video cameras inside our home, but the product can be used as a baby monitor, pet cam, and more.
