In this day of ultra-connectivity in our homes, it's difficult to keep our devices and data protected. As a small business owner and parent of connected kids, we're early adopters of technology. We test new products when they hit the shelves because we like new tech, but also to see how the work for our family.

CUJO is a smart firewall for the connected home that is designed to bring business-level security to your home network. This one device will secure all devices connecting to the WiFi router. CUJO detects and blocks malicious sites, viruses, and hacks. Think of CUJO like the antivirus for your entire network. An additional bonus? CUJO lets you control what your kids access online and keep them safe while doing so. See below for our house rules and what we do to protect our kids and out information online. I was amazed at just how many devices we have online! They all pop up in the devices tab in the CUJO app once they hit the router.
Our house rules for electronics include:
- Limited screen time
- No technology during the week unless it’s for schoolwork
- Restricted access to certain sites
- Whitelisted websites allowed
- Spot checks by an adult during use
- Tech taken away if found breaking the rules
- Devices will be checked randomly for sites visited and analyzed for the amount of time spent on various sites
CUJO helps to enforce our house rules with some of their great features!
CUJO offers easy parental controls for all devices. We can set up internet filters, time limits, social media monitoring, reports & alerts, and even pause the internet by individual profiles. Each child gets their own profile so their devices are connected to their own profile while household devices are connected to a different profile. I can make those changes on the fly with remote administration tools on the app. It's so convenient! And when a friend comes over, I can grant access with one of my kids' age-appropriate profiles.
