Raise your hand if you are constantly on the hunt for ways to get your kids to eat better. It seems as if there’s junk food in the house, that’s what they gravitate toward. We’ve found a new snack that they love (and I do, too)—Del Monte Veggieful Pocket Pies.
This post is sponsored by The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA). All opinions are my own. For more inspiration during #FrozenFoodMonth, be sure to check out delicious ideas from NFRA at EasyHomeMeals.com .
The new Del Monte Veggieful Pocket Pies are the best secret ever. I don’t know where they have been my whole life, but we are loving these new pocket pies. These pocket sandwiches provide a delicious and unexpected way to eat your vegetables.
As a household of 6, we need and love a variety of food options and value the benefits of eating veggies. But as picky eaters, we won’t compromise on taste to get the nutrition benefits. These Pocket Pies are filled with vegetables, cheese, and plant-based proteins and baked with a crust made with cauliflower. Shhhhh, please don’t tell my kids each pie has a whole serving of vegetables and 9g–11g of plant protein!
We love the convenience of the Del Monte Veggieful Pocket Pies as a better-for-you snack option. They’re so easy to make and great for snacking on the go. Just heat them and eat them.
For my Portland friends, you can buy them at a Safeway near you, but they’re available nationwide in 4 flavors:
- Del Monte Veggieful Spinach Artichoke Parmesan Pocket Pies, Broccoli Potato Cheese Pocket Pies, Plant-Based Philly Cheesesteak Pocket Pies, and Rosemary Garlic Plant-Based Chicken Pocket Pies
Our favorite varieties are the Del Monte Veggieful Spinach Artichoke Parmesan Pocket Pies and Del Monte Veggieful Broccoli Potato Cheese Pocket Pies. It works out perfectly that two kids prefer one flavor and two kids prefer the other flavor, as they come two per box.
When the kids are looking for a nutritious snack between distance learning classes, I can prep the pies so they are ready for the kids’ lunch break when I’m in a nice mom mood, but they are so easy to prepare, they can also do it themselves if I’m on a call or in a meeting when they are ready for a snack. They make a terrific grab-and-go meal for the family or a late-night snack, too.
Portland friends, you can get these on sale for 2/$6 at your local Safeway through March 28.
