“This House Needs a Mouse” Book Review
We love the opportunity to review books in our house, since we have four avid young readers. “This House Needs A Mouse
” is a beautifully illustrated children’s book by author C. Jeffrey Nunnally. It’s a fun tale of a mouse who seeks a more exciting life outside of his caged existence. Through a series of events, finds himself free and experiencing life, complete with all of life’s ups and downs.
It’s not just a read-along for your child (or a read-aloud for you child depending on their reading level…I have one 7-year-old daughter who can read the whole thing to her siblings), this book is geared toward 3–8-year-old kids as a teaching tool for budding and experienced readers and writers. The copy is filled with mentor text such as alliteration, vivid verbs, and purposeful repetition, making “This House Needs a Mouse” both a fun and educational read.
