The HTC One (M8)’s zero-gap all-metal body is sleek and elegant. It’s easy to hold and pretty, too. I have really small hands, but the curves make this phone easily fit in the palm of my hand. It’s easy to grip, despite its size, which encompasses a 5” full HD 1080p display. Impressive, to say the least. The features on this phone are awesome.
The HTC One (M8) is an Android-based phone with HTC Sense 6. HTC Sense 6 is intuitive and easy to learn, especially when you are coming from another OS. I was surprised at just how easy it was to learn to use. The Motion Launch gestures are easy to navigate, and HTC Blinkfeed home screen updates let me see activity from my favorite apps at a glance—apps that I get to customize and choose what shows up in the BlinkFeed. I also like that I can customize my theme.
The Duo Camera on the HTC One (M8) has some really cool features. The restore focus feature that brings objects info focus even after you’ve taken the photo with UFocus. You can take great day or night time shots with UltraPixel technology then effortlessly add creative effects. For video, you can capture video, pause the recording, and reframe, and finish recording. You can also capture a full 360 degree panoramic dome view and tilt the phone to move the image around on the screen. The rear-facing camera features a dual LED flash for better lighting.
Dual front-facing HTC BoomSound stereo speakers give excellent sound, too. I used the Easy Voice Recorder app from the Google Play store for a recent press trip to record our interviews and was really impressed with the audio quality I got without the use of an external microphone. The audio quality is quite good on this phone!
And the battery life is outstanding. It makes the battery life on my competitor phone look like a joke; it seriously makes me wonder how on earth that competitor battery can be so horrible.
