Seasoned Dungeons & Dragons players will recognize many of the iconic monsters in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves trailers out now, but new D&D people won’t be as savvy. Fans of the iconic RPG game from Hasbro will be excited to see some of their favorite monsters from the D&D game come to life on the big screen in the upcoming Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
Displacer Beast
In the action-packed trailer, we see Edgin and his fellow adventurers dodging a creature in the stadium maze. This fierce panther-esque creature is the Displacer Beast, capable of conjuring illusions to confuse and mislead its prey. Those who encounter a Displacer Beast, also known as a dirlagraun or omlarcat, heavily rely on combat skills to survive.

Gelatinous Cube
Also in the stadium, we see the group dive out of the way of a displacer beast right into the transparent gelatinous cube, one of the oldest monsters in D&D history. This cubed predator has been capturing adventurers in its acidic ooze since the first edition of Dungeons & Dragons in the 1970s.

Adult Black Dragon
While you certainly expect to see dragons in a fantasy film, the Black Dragon we see in the trailer is no ordinary dragon. Experienced D&D players will recognize this beast as a winged menace who splayed the battlefield with its black, acid breath.

Adult Silver Dragon
Sometimes called shield dragons, silver dragons are a breed of metallic dragons that are regal and statuesque. They love joining humans for feasts and hate combat. Silver dragons had two separate breath weapons. The first was a cone of freezing cold, similar to that of white dragons. The second was a cone of paralyzing gas.

Mimic
This ambush predator that can take the shape of objects in order to launch surprise attacks on its unsuspecting victims is seen in the trailer, in this case, as the shape of a treasure chest on the arena maze attacking Holga.

Themberchaud, Adult Red Dragon
For centuries, Themberchaud, known as Wyrmsmith of Gracklstugh, is an adult red dragon, that resides in a dwarven city in the Underdark. He’s massive and overweight and too large to leave his cave.

Owlbear
Doric, a Tiefling druid, is a shapeshifter who often shifts into an Owlbear. While it is pretty evident from its name the two creatures it is created from, it’s more heavily a bear than an owl in composition and known in the Forgotten Realms as being pretty fearsome.

Intellect Devourer
These psionic aberrations take the form of walking brains. Servants of the mind flayers, they are one of the most dreaded threats of the Underdark. Also known as brain dogs, they have the power to consume intelligence and possess host bodies..

Kenku
Kenku are flightless, large-beaked birds in the Forgotten Realms of average human height. Kenku are known to be selfish thieves who seek riches and power through any means. This avian race is also efficient at combat.

Environment: Forest
Lizardfolk
These reptilian humanoids are food-motivated, and easily distracted by food even in combat. However, without distractions, the Lizardfolk are naturally armored warriors.
