Mickey Mummy Sugar Cookies

Mickey Mummy Sugar Cookies

Mickey Mummy Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1 1/2 cups Powder sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • Cookie Cutter: Mickey Mouse head

  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup vanilla
  • 4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • Black gel coloring
  • 1 disposable piping bags fitted with number 2 tip
  • 1 disposable piping bag fitted with number 104 tip
  • 1 squeeze bottles

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  3. Using a standing mixer, cream together the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and egg and mix until combined and creamy.
  4. Using a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar.
  5. Gradually add in the dry ingredients and mix on low speed.
  6. Using your hands continue to mix until fully combined.
  7. Lightly flour a cutting board and knead the cookie dough a few times.
  8. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick.
  9. Cut out a few Mickey Mouse heads and place onto the cookie sheet.
  10. Bake for 8 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
  11. Repeat steps until completely out of dough.
  12. Let cookies cool completely.

Mickey Mummy Sugar Cookies in process Icing Directions:

  1. Using a stand mixer, combine the egg whites, cream of tartar, vanilla and powdered sugar and mix until combined and stiff peaks form.
  2. Scoop some white icing into the piping bag fitted with the 104 tip and set aside.
  3. Add in a few drops of the black coloring and mix until combined.
  4. Scoop some icing into a number 2 bag and set aside.
  5. Mix in 3 tbsp. of water into the remaining black icing and mix until combined.
  6. Pour icing into the squeeze bottle.
  7. Using the black piping bag, pipe an outline around the cookies.
  8. Fill in with the thinner black icing.
  9. Allow cookies to dry overnight.
  10. Using the white icing, pipe random white lines around the Mickey Mouse head to make look it look like a mummy wrap.
  11. Allow icing to dry for an hour before enjoying!
