Mickey Pumpkin Donuts

Fall is upon us and that makes me think of pumpkin. These adorable Mickey Pumpkin Donuts remind me of something you'd find at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World or Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland. These Mickey Pumpkin Donuts have Fall at Disney all over them!

Mickey Pumpkin Donut

Mickey Pumpkin Donuts

Makes 15 donuts
Donut ingredients:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. unsalted sweet cream butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup + 1 1/2 tbsp. whole milk
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
Donut directions :
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and spray a doughnut baking pan with baking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together egg, milk, butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients in with the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Spoon batter into doughnut pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 6 minutes before removing and placing the donuts onto a wire rack.
  7. Repeat steps until all batter is used up.
Mickey Pumpkin Donut
Vanilla icing ingredients:
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp. clear corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp. clear vanilla extract
  • Orange, yellow, and green gel food coloring
  • 3 disposable piping bags
Decorating ingredients:
  • 1 box of Pixie Sticks (Sticks only) cut into thirds
  • 1 bag of orange candy melts
Icing Directions:
  1. Using a stand mixer, combine the powdered sugar, corn syrup, milk, and vanilla extract, and mix on medium to high speed until smooth and thick.
  2. Scoop about 1/4 cup of the icing into 2 bowls.
  3. Add a few drops of green to one bowl.
  4. Add a few drops of yellow to the second bowl.
  5. Scoop the two icing's into their own piping bag.
  6. Add a few drops of the orange gel food coloring into the remaining white icing.
  7. Scoop about 5 tbsp. of orange icing into a piping bag and set aside.

Decorating directions:
  1. Using a sharp knife, cut slits into the top corners of the doughnut for Mickey's ears.
  2. Place an orange candy melt into the slits.
  3. Place donuts onto a wire rack and carefully pour the remaining orange icing onto the donuts.
  4. Allow to dry for 30 minutes.
  5. Carefully push in a pixie stick into the top center of the doughnut in between the ears.
  6. Cut the tip of the green piping bag and pipe green icing onto the pixie stick. Make sure the stick is completely coated.
  7. Allow to dry for 30 minutes.
  8. Using the green piping bag, pipe 3 lines onto the “Stem.”
  9. Using the orange piping bag, pipe the details of the pumpkin onto the donuts.
  10. Allow to dry for 30 minutes.
  11. Using the yellow piping bag, pipe the 3 dots onto the doughnuts for the eyes and mouth.
  12. Allow to dry completely before enjoying!

Ingredients

Donut ingredients:

    This is a cute idea, and so fun! I need to get some donut pans! I was just going through my baking pans, and have things like madeline baking pans, connoli forms, springform, but no donut!
