While we love to travel, we also love exploring areas that are close to our home city of Portland, Oregon. I recently headed toward the Central Oregon Coast and Lincoln City to check out the newly remodeled Salishan Resort, Salishan Resort Gold Course, and The Sun Room Restaurant.
Thanks to Salishan Resort for hosting our stay. As always, all opinions are my own.
Summer at Salishan Resort on the Oregon Coast
The Oregon Coast captivates and is known for its miles of sandy beaches and rugged coastline connecting to surrounding forests, all easily accessible along U.S. Route 101, The Pacific Coast Scenic Byway. Our scenery is magical and it's one of the reasons I love living where we do. My oldest daughter and I took a few days to surround ourselves in the serenity and beauty of the Oregon Coast and left the city behind. We couldn't have been more pleased with what we found when we arrived at Salishan Resort.
Salishan Resort, recently renovated, is an eco-friendly resort nestled among the woods on one side of the 101. On the opposite side, you'll find a small shopping center, golf course, nature trails, and beach & oceanfront access.
Our room (one of 205 at the resort) overlooked the Salishan Resort golf course at the edge of the woods, just a short walk from the main buildings, but it was so quiet you would have thought we were miles from civilization. Rooms all feature a private balcony, flat screen TV with cable, bathrobe and bath amenities, fireplace, Keurig coffee makers, microwave, refrigerator, in-room safe, iron and ironing board, and are pet-friendly and ADA/accessible.
Play Golf at Salishan Resort
My daughter and I took a private golf lesson with a golf pro at the Salishan Resort Golf Course. The Salishan Resort is home to an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary premier golf course designed by Peter Jacobson. We started at the driving range, learned some techniques, and then took those techniques to the course. The 18-hole golf course at Salishan Resort is open year-round and select holes offer incredible sweeping ocean and bay views.
Dine at Salishan Resort
The resort is home to three restaurants. The Sun Room serves farm-to-table fare breakfast, lunch, and dinner and features a signature wine collection. Attic Lounge is open daily for dinner and offers guests 21+ hand-tossed pizzas, creative cocktails, and live music. The Grill, open for breakfast and lunch, serves casual fare in the golf clubhouse. My daughter and I enjoyed our meals at The Sun Room. Fantastic breakfasts and dinner. This place is a foodie's delight.
Enjoy the Games and S'mores
Nightly there are Make your own s'mores and games in the common area at the main building. You can also look for glass floats daily in the summer on the nature trails.
Relax in the Spa at Salishan Resort
The Spa at Salishan Resort offers luxury spa services such as massages, body treatments, and facials. We didn't partake in them as they don't do treatments for minors (not even pedicures or manicures) but the spa was lovely! It offers stunning views overlooking the bay, and guests are surrounded by the restorative elements of the Oregon Coast. The full range of services offered at the spa makes Salishan the most comprehensive spa resort on the Central Oregon Coast.
