In my January 4 ‘Bucket List’ post, one of the items I listed was to get my tattoo touched up.
Get my gecko touched up. I have an awesome gecko tattoo on my toe. It’s in desperate need of a touch up. For some reason, I keep putting off getting it done. It was painful, but that can’t be the reason. Heck, I’ve given birth to 4 kids without an epidural or any other pain meds. I can totally handle the touch up. I must just be lazy. It’s not really important in the scheme of things.
Well, I can say that one has been checked off the list!
This past weekend, I visited a colleague’s brother at Inkfiend Art, in Alhambra, CA. Tim is awesome! I stopped in for a consult and he was able to squeeze me in later that evening. I got the original tat in November 1997. I had it touched up a couple of years later, but another 12ish years of sun and skin regeneration, it was badly faded. I’m so pleased with the way it came out. I asked him to make the tail loop back around and it looked like a ribbon. I asked to have it made into a purple ribbon for my dad. He died a little over 3 years ago from pancreatic cancer. It was a nice little tribute that Tim was able to work in.
I’ve been contemplating a third tat for awhile, but now that I’ve found an artist I like, it may happen.
