With Easter this weekend, we had to create a Peeps Freakshake fit for extreme milkshake lovers. This Easter freakshake has all of the components any freak milkshake should! It’s the perfect way to enjoy some of that extra Easter candy you have after the Easter bunny comes to visit this weekend.

Peeps Freakshake

Peeps Freakshake

Peeps Freakshake Ingredients

  • One 1 pt. Mason jar
  • Strawberry frosting
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Skim milk
  • Yellow food coloring
  • Pink sprinkles
  • One decorated donut
  • Peeps marshmallow candy stick (or Peeps marshmallow candies and a skewer)
  • Snowball (purple to match the theme)
  • Filled marshmallows
  • Bamboo skewer

Peeps Freakshake

Peeps Freakshake Directions

  1. Prepare the Peeps stick if you are making your own (otherwise, unwrap and set aside the store bought stick)
  2. Cover the rim of the Mason jar with frosting by using a knife, much the way you would if you were to decorate the side of a cake.
  3. Cover the frosted Mason jar rim with sprinkles. We did this by placing sprinkles on a plate and rolling the rim gently into the sprinkles to cover the whole rim. This process is similar to dusting the rim of a cocktail glass.
  4. Set aside your prepared Mason jar.
  5. Make your milkshake. We used 6 scoops of ice cream (about 2 cups) and 1/2 cup of milk and added 8 drops of yellow food coloring. This should make enough to fill your Mason jar, but you are welcome to play with the consistency to get the thickness of shake you prefer.
  6. Pour your shake mix into the Mason jar.
  7. Top with one donut and then the Snowball. Add the Peep stick.
  8. Skewer the filled marshmallow and put through the center of the Snowball and donut to hold the freakshake together.
  9. Enjoy!
