Thank you CleanMyMac X for sponsoring this post. Ranked as the “App of the month” on Product Hunt, CleanMyMac X is an all-in-one package to awesomize your Mac and make it run just like it did on day one. #CleanMyMacX

Spring is definitely the time of year when we’re ready to do some nesting and clean house. Goodbye dust bunnies and junk that’s weighing us down. But who says that spring cleaning is just for your house? Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be strictly for cabinets and drawers. In fact, some of your home tech desperately need spring cleaning, too.

Spring Cleaning for Your Tech with CleanMyMacX

I’m a Mac girl and have been since 1995. If you’re anything like me, you probably try to keep a neat desktop on your Mac, but that means you’re constantly filing the files you don’t need right at your fingertips. Deleting old downloads, creating folders, shuffling around those folders to reorganize when it makes sense. I run a small business in addition to my blog so I’m constantly manipulating files for clients and moving them around. Create a version, rename, relocate, delete, old. I also archive my files to an external drive for long-term storage once I’m done with them. Well, all of that manipulation creates scattered 0s and 1s that sometimes get separated from their original locations and your computer gets bogged down. PCs have loads of options for system management but good software for a Mac is hard to find. I’ve recently discovered CleanMyMac X and I’m loving it.

CleanMyMacX person scanning Mac

CleanMyMac X is the “ultimate cleaner for your Mac.” It’s designed to scan and clean your Mac to remove hidden files (those lost 0s and 1s I mentioned above), old archive files, unused apps (I know you’ve downloaded things you’ve stopped using, I have!), and malware. It’s the best way to clean up your computer and remove maybe even gigabytes of unused data!

CleanMyMac X Smart Scan is a smart clean up that scans your computer and then suggests what tasks you should do for optimized “cleaning” of your computer, everything from old cache files to old user logs and broken downloads to unused language files for programs.

CleanMyMac X will also perform a scan to look for space hogs and seek out large files, some of which you know are things you’ve likely forgotten about, so you can make an informed decision about what to delete if running out of room is your issue (something I’m constantly battling with on my laptop).

And CleanMyMac X also fixed issues. It will run application updates and remove malware, as well as uninstall applications you may have *thought* you uninstalled but didn’t get uninstalled completely.

In a nutshell, the CleanMyMac X will make your Mac as good as new again. Goodbye, computer dust bunnies. Hello, efficiently running Mac. It’s the Mac utility I didn’t know I needed—until I installed it. Going forward, it will be the first app I install on a new Mac. I love being able to clean up and speed up my Mac with just one app!

CleanMyMac X is affordable. A One-Year Subscription of CleanMyMac X is ARV $34.95. I liked it so much I went back and ordered a second license for my laptop, too!

Technology Tricks & Tips for Spring Cleaning

  • If you don’t have an external hard drive, grab yourself an external SSD. You can get 1TB of storage for usually under $100 and that will hold most anything the average user can imagine.
  • Back up any old photos (I recommend anything older than 6 months that you aren’t going to access to that external SSD.
  • Once the photos are backed up, delete them.
  • Delete unused apps.
  • Delete old and unused downloads.
  • Look for any system updates and install/run them.
  • Click here to automatically download and try CleanMyMac.
