Last week in Los Angeles we spent a fun morning getting merry with the cast of Disney’s Coop and Cami. We screened an exclusive preview of Disney Channel’s holiday-themed episode of “Coop and Cami Ask the World” “Would you Wrather Get a Moose Angry,” and had a fun Q&A Disney Channel talent Dakota Lotus, Ruby Rose Turner, Albert Tsai, and Paxton Booth. Then we made Christmas tree ornaments with them. Such fun! What a great way to kick off the holiday season and ABC’s 25 Days of Christmas.

My youngest kids love this show. I can see why; these kids are a hoot, both on TV and in real life. Lively, energetic, and full of humor. I can only imagine what it would be like on set with them. I remember meeting Albert Tsai on the set of Dr. Ken once before, but that’s so much different than a show that’s predominately kids.

On Christmas in July

The kids mentioned the special holiday episode in the summer since that’s when they shoot through the summer. While it’s a touch hotter in the summer, all the decor helped them get into the holiday spirit.

“I feel like when they put up all the Christmas décor and set up all the sets,” Tsai said. “We kind of got into the spirit. I definitely felt the festive mood.”

“Yeah, even though it was like 5 months away, we still had Christmas cheer,” Turner said.

On family traditions at the holidays

“I just love decorating the tree and putting up all the decorations to get in like a festive mood and also like baking treats for friends and family,” Tsai said.

“I just love spending time with friends and family and being able to share the joy of Christmas with everyone and, kind of, actually eating cookies, too,” Lotus said. “‘Cause there’s a lot of Christmas cookies, and they’re very delicious.”

“My grandma, I only get to see my grandma once a year, and that’s Christmastime,” Booth said. “So we always share Christmas together with Grandma.”

“I think my Christmas tradition is we have a big neighborhood that does really fun stuff every year,” Turner said. “And so it was like that episode, but like much more, and so we always like to go around and walk and see all the other Christmas lights, so it’s fun.”

On friendships, work, and fun

“I feel like when we went to Walt Disney World, that was one of the most fun times,” Tsai said.” “We got to all hang out together.”

“Oh, that was amazing,” Booth said. ” We got to play the whole day all day.”

“We were in the same hotel,” Lotus said. “We got to see each other. Oh, yeah. That was not work. That was fun.”

After we made ornaments and got in the holiday spirit, we also spent some time with some California-based Marines and shared some goodwill for kids this holiday season. This holiday season, Disney|ABC Television are teaming up with Disney store, ShopDisney.com, and Toys for Tots. Fans and families can celebrate 25 Days of Christmas by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy at a U.S. Disney store or on shopDisney.com until December 15th and Disney store will contribute $5 per toy to Toys for Tots, up to $1 Million! Thanks to Walt Disney Studios for bringing me to Los Angeles on an all-expense paid trip. As always, all opinions are my own.
