Everyone wants to drink something green on St. Patty’s Day. I remember the days of green beer in college; it was served all day long. However, I never actually celebrated all day long (I would have been picked up off the floor by the end of the day). Here are a few green-inspired cocktails for your St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
Emerald Grasshopper
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz green crème de menthe
- 1.5 oz white crème de cacao
Directions
- Put ice in a cocktail shaker
and add crèmes
- Shake
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
- Garnish with mint leaf
Vodka Gimlet
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz vodka
- 3/4 oz lime juice
- 3 or 4 lime slices
Directions
- Pour vodka and lime juice
into cocktail shaker
- Shake and strain into cocktail glass
- Add 3 to 4 slices of lime in cocktail glass
to garnish
Mint Julep
Ingredients
- 2 oz bourbon
- 6 to 8 sprigs of mint
- 1 tsp sugar
Directions
- Put mint and sugar
in cocktail shaker
- Add shaved ice and bourbon
- Shake and pour into rocks glass
- Garnish with a mint leaf
Mojito
Ingredients
- 2 oz light rum
- 1 lime, halved
- .5 oz simple syrup
- 8 to 10 mint leaves
- Club soda
Directions
- Muddle mint leaves and simple syrup
at the bottom of a tall glass
until you can smell the mint
- Squeeze both lime halves into the glass
, and leave one in the glass
- Add rum
- Stir
- Fill with ice and top with club soda
- Garnish with a mint sprig
