Grochau Cellars 2012 Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir has pale ruby color and great dark fruit aroma with lots of black cherries and black raspberries on the nose. The palate has a nice rich dark fruit profile, with black raspberries, cherries, and hints of cranberry on the palate, as well as a bit of earth and clove and vanilla, with good acidity and medium tannins. This wine would pair beautifully with duck breast with a fruit sauce or glaze, or even a nice baked salmon dish. It was a lovely wine for sipping by the fireplace, as well. This would make a great holiday wine gift for a Pinot Noir lover on your holiday gift list.
Grochau Cellars is primarily focused on making premium Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc from a variety of high-quality vineyard properties. Located in Amity, Oregon, they have been making wines since 2002 and source from fruit in vineyards dedicated to non-interventionist farming techniques (organic when possible, sustainably focused, environmentally sensitive), and they work closely with the growers so that their fruit can become the wines they strive for, with as little interference as possible. I love this model!

I too like the approach of non-interventionist farming techniques (organic when possible, sustainably focused, environmentally sensitive).
