Yesterday I went to the Burlington Farmer's Market, brood in tow, looking to grab some fresh produce and possibly a treat. I stumbled upon Nibble or Nosh Bakeshop‘s stand. Quite the treat, literally and figuratively.
My kids love whoopie pies, so they picked out the mint chocolate variety, while I gravitated toward the cupcakes. Green velvet with cream cheese frosting. Yum! We'll take 4. But wait, what's next to you, green velvet cupcakes? Chocolate stout cupcakes with Bailey's buttercream frosting for St. Patrick's Day?! Yes, please! I'll take another 4.
I like cupcakes. Who doesn't? (Seriously, I think there may be something wrong with you if you don't.) The green velvet were just as tasty as I expected, but the chocolate stout cupcakes with Bailey's buttercream were to die for. Quite possibly the best cupcake I have ever had. And I've had a lot of cupcakes over the years. The cupcake was chocolatey with a hint of the stout, not overpowering at all, and so moist! The frosting was delectable. Sweet like butter cream should be but the Bailey's somehow cut the richness so it wasn't too sweet.
I need to find the recipe for the both the chocolate stout cupcake and the Bailey's buttercream frosting because I will have to try these at home.
Nibble or Nosh Bakeshop, you made my St. Patrick's Day!

Hey girl, check my “Tried and True” board on pinterest for a Bailey’s buttercream frosting recipe. It’s part of the recipe for the Irish Cream brownies that are pinned on there. 🙂
