Thanks for the information! Seeing a dentist during pregnancy seems like a bigger deal than I originally though. It’s really interesting that gum disease can contribute to low birth weight and preterm birth. I didn’t realize that it’s serious enough that it would make moms four to seven times more likely to deliver a premature baby with low-birth weight. That makes me want to see a dentist to make sure everything in my mouth is okay right this second. Having good dental health seems like no joke, so I should do more to take care of my mouth for the sake of my unborn child.
