How to Celebrate Christmas in July

With the state of current events, who couldn’t use a little extra cheer right now?

Christmas in July is the perfect way to cheer up you and your family, and we wanted to share some ideas to outline some ideas to make your Christmas in July extra special.

Car carrying a Christmas tree

1: Get a Tree

You can’t have Christmas without a tree, and since fresh trees are not an option right now, artificial Christmas trees are your best bet. There are some beautiful options that look completely real. They also come in many sizes so you can get one that fits in your space.

2: Start Playing Christmas Music

Get in the Christmas spirit by playing Christmas music. I know there are plenty of you out there are hate Christmas music, but some of us like it. Even though it’s not Christmas time, there are still Christmas playlists in apps such as Spotify and Apple Music. But seriously, who doesn’t love Christmas music?!?

3: Make Your Favorite Christmas Cookies

Christmas cookies are arguably one of the best parts of Christmas. You can break out the apron and start making your favorite Christmas cookies. If you need ideas for recipes we have some cookies on the blog, but you can always try one of our great cookie recipes or one from a collaboration site like try Epicurious or Allrecipes. Be sure to make enough to share because everyone loves cookies!?

4: Involve Your Friends and Family

What is a Christmas celebration without friends and family? Get your family pumped for the idea of Christmas in July with the promises of cookies and presents. We mentioned how people could use a little cheer right now, and Christmas in July can do the trick.

If you want to invite people, a virtual celebration through an app like Zoom is the perfect way to get a lot of people together in a safe, socially distant manner—you can always mail their gifts!

6: Do Your Favorite Christmas Activities

What are your holiday traditions? Some fun things our family loves to do to help get into the Christmas spirit include building gingerbread houses, baking Christmas cookies, watching holiday movies, and listening to Christmas music. The goal to pulling off the perfect Christmas in July is to do everything that you would normally do at Christmas time—just a few months sooner.

7: Decorate Your Home

To fully immerse yourself in Christmas in July, get out all of your decorations and deck out your home the same way you would in December. Hang lights on the outside of your home, decorate your tree, hang up a wreath, and do everything else you would normally do at Christmas time.

8: Make Your Gift Wrapping Creative

To complete the aesthetic of your Christmas tree, place beautifully wrapped presents under your tree. Get creative and artistic with how you wrap your presents so that it’s a fun activity and so that they look beautiful under the tree. Pinterest has some great inspirational ideas, and believe it or not, Amazon still sells a ton of Christmas wrapping paper.
