You probably are familiar with the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model. The CSF is just like a CSA, except the product is sockeye salmon. And it is some of the best salmon I've ever had. I personally gave up eating farm raised salmon over a decade ago. If it isn't wild, I don't buy it. Kenai Red Fish Company offers some of the best wild Alaskan sockeye salmon I've ever had in my life. It's incredible. You can learn more about the sustainability of Cook Inlet sockeye salmon here.

Flash Frozen for Superior Quality

Kenai Red Fish Company's sockeye salmon are vacuum sealed and then flash frozen in airtight packages. Flash freezing locks in all the flavors, juices, and benefits of fresh fish, allowing them keep perfectly for long periods until you are ready to cook them. Flash freezing requires the use of technologically advanced, extremely low temperature freezers (± -40° Fahrenheit) for each filet just as soon as it is vacuum packed. This ensures that there is no degradation at all in the quality of the share you receive. When the fish freezes this quickly, no ice crystals form to damage the tissue, preserving the fish as naturally as scientifically possible. And the flavor, aroma, and nutritional benefits you enjoy are exactly as they were when it was caught, even if you live thousands of miles from where they were when they brought the fish aboard.

Kenai Red Fish Company fish is cleaned, filleted, packaged, and flash frozen usually in less than 8 hours after it is caught! Afterwards, the filets are stored at well below freezing and shipped to Portland where it is then kept at such a low temperature that the fish does not age at all until you thaw it.

I like that they hire local crews that know the waters and trade for where they are fishing. I think that brings more respect and love to the whole business.
