Well, that was f*cking epic. Deadpool and Wolverine is wanton chaos, in the best way possible. Read on for our spoiler-free review of Deadpool and Wolverine.
Review – Deadpool and Wolverine is Wanton Chaos
Let’s start by saying it’s nearly impossible to write a review about a movie like Deadpool and Wolverine without spoilers. Much of what has Marvel fans—like myself—completely nerding out is the stuff we can’t talk about without being blatant @ssholes, and this just isn’t a site with *those* reviews.

So LFG.
Deadpool and Wolverine is a dirty, wet dream of a wild ride, and I mean WILD. Absolutely motherf*cking wild, from unexpected cameos & characters to a baller soundtrack, comic-accurate costumes and the kind of carnage you expect from Deadpoool. Deadpool and Wolverine is non-stop action and thrills that had me on the seat of my pants, pumping my fists, cheering, screaming, a few hugs at the heartstrings, and anxiously awaiting the next opportunity to see the film again (which is Thursday night, to be exact).
Wolverine’s Comic Accurate Suit
If you watched the trailers, you know it’s been 24 years too long, but we FINALLY have Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in a 90’s accurate comic book suit, or jammies as Deadpool colloquially called them. Why do we finally have the suit? Well, that is a spoiler, unfortunately.
Cameos
Deadpool and Wolverine movie is littered with cameos and characters, many of which you might expect based on trailers and pools of other surprises you won’t have even seen coming. Flabbergasting, crowd riling surprises.
Dogpool
Let’s just say that beautiful Mary Puppins steals the show, er movie. She is the cutest thing ever. That tongue! Does she have a sister up for adoption?
Cassandra Nova
Emma Corrin as a villain? I wasn’t convinced. We’re so used to seeing Corrin as not only the good guy, but she portrays Princess Diana on Netflix’s “The Crown.” But I am now. She’s vile, evil, and the perfect Deadpool and Wolverine baddie. While Cassandra Nova’s origin story isn’t comic-accurate, it’s enough so that hard-core comic book fans will be content with the story.
Jabs and Quotes
Per typical Deadpool, the language is just as raunchy and wanton as you would expect. Wolverine only helps to tamper minimally. The digs at Fox and previous Marvel movies that aren’t part of the new MCU are just so damn good Deadpool and Wolverine is worth a watch just for the IP jabs. Watch for the full movie quotes post for Deadpool and Wolverine later this week.
Choreography and Fight Scenes
The fight scenes and choreography in Deadpool and Wolverine are so well done. In true Deadpool fashion, a fight scene isn’t simply a fight scene—it’s a synchronized montage of lecherous blood and guts amalgamated with dance moves, in some cases with the most millennial of dance moves.
Deadpool and Wolverine Easter Eggs
You know we’re all about the Easter eggs in any movie, especially a Marvel film. Deadpool and Wolverine is chock full of them. Watch for the full Deadpool and Wolverine Easter Eggs post later this week.
That Deadpool and Wolverine Tracklist
From Stray Kids to *NSYNC, from Goo Goo Dolls to Madonna (which is not a secret anymore) this movie has some jams!
Verdict
Definitely the best Marvel movie of the year, Deadpool and Wolverine is a fun romp through X-Men and mutant history and a wild intro welcoming these mutants to the MCU. Reynolds and Jackman have an undeniable chemistry that makes the movie absurdly fun, even if the jokes may sometimes be a bit overreaching.
About DEADPOOL and WOLVERINE
Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date—”Deadpool & Wolverine.” A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctantlier… reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to—F*ck. Synopses are so f*cking stupid.
