Did you know that going without your smartphone for just 10 minutes at a time can help people around the world with access to clean water? UNICEF Tap Project is working to help the more than 768 million people worldwide without access to clean, safe drinking water. By taking a challenge using—or by not using—your smartphone, UNICEF Tap Project sponsors and will donate to the project.
UNICEF Tap Project has been helping children around the world get access to clean drinking water since 2007. The 2014 UNICEF Tap Project challenges you to put down your phone. For every 10 minutes that you don’t touch your phone, UNICEF can provide one day of clean water to someone who needs it. While the app runs, you are shown facts and figures about drinking water across the world. This March, I’ll be using this program on my phone to try to help provide water to those in need.
