This weekend my husband took my girls to see Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Presents BUILT TO AMAZE! at the Moda Center in Portland! They loved the show. They’ve been talking about it non-stop. They were so excited to show me the videos and photos my husband took. I first saw the circus at Madison Square Garden in New York City when I was 6 years old, and it still holds such dear memories for me! I was just a bit younger than my youngest girls are, we took the train to Madison Square Garden, had our faces painted. It was an amazing day!
They saw Crossbow Casanova, Ovidiu, shoot an arrow though a thin piece of paper, balloon strings, and an apple on top of his head! They were amazed by a comedy unicycle basketball routine performed by the legendary King Charles Troupe. They split into two teams and played the wackiest game of one-wheeled basketball.
The aerial act stunned the audience as they tossed and flipped through the air by only the catch and release of each other’s hands. It’s like the trapeze, but without the bar. My girls take an aeriels class so they were extra amazed by this particular act.
My family was able to see April, their 5-year-old elephant performing alongside Asia, who is 47.
My oldest twin loved the motor cross demonstration where the cyclists biked inside a ball around a woman. That was her favorite part of the show. Well, that and the cotton candy on a hat.

We loved it too! It was so exciting and the characters were funny, and the animals and performers were awe inspiring!!
