Ski season is just around the corner. This past week my husband signed our daughter up for her race league at Mt. Hood. In the next couple of weeks, we’ll be outfitting the kids with updated ski gear because inevitably they’ve all grown again this year. They’ll need new jackets, gloves, helmets, goggles, boots, and some will probably need new skis. It’s also time to start booking our winter family ski vacation. We have two trips on our list this year—a family trip and a guys trip my husband is planning—and where we stay for those vacations is the next step in the planning process.
When planning a family ski vacation there are many options for housing, including hotels, private condos, and resort condos. Staying at a resort condo is always a nice option because you are right there in the thick of the action with access to all of the ski resort amenities. If you’re planning a family ski vacation in a resort town like Whistler, British Columbia, renting a resort residence such as at Mountainside Lodge, you’re literally a 2-minute walk to the Blackcomb Excalibur Gondola. It really doesn’t get any closer than that at Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains.
You’re less than 10 minutes walking distance to the Olympic Village and downtown pedestrian-only Whistler Village for nightlife, dining, and shopping. It’s such a prime location. Vacatia offers so many resort residences with varying size options. We love a resort residence because we get a full kitchen option so we can cook and dine in to save costs on our vacation. If we choose a hotel, that isn’t an option and many hotels aren’t slope side. I also love the amenities of a resort residence because on days when I’m a lodge mom or need a break, there are often many more activities to choose from to entertain myself and the kids, including hot tubs, the spa, pools, game rooms, movie rentals, and more.
One of the great features of Vacatia in my mind is that you are getting the benefit of hospitality, timeshare, and premier independent resorts without dealing with the owners directly. That to me is a win. I can book my resort residence rental through Vacatia and they deal with everything! Sign up for Vacatia now.
