Everyone wants to drink something green on St. Patty’s Day. I remember the days of green beer in college; it was served all day long. However, I never actually celebrated all day long (I would have been picked up off the floor by the end of the day). Here are a few green-inspired cocktails for your St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

Emerald Grasshopper

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz green crème de menthe
  • 1.5 oz white crème de cacao

Directions

  • Put ice in a cocktail shaker and add crèmes
  • Shake
  • Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
  • Garnish with mint leaf

Vodka Gimlet

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 3 or 4 lime slices

Directions

  • Pour vodka and lime juice into cocktail shaker
  • Shake and strain into cocktail glass
  • Add 3 to 4 slices of lime in cocktail glass to garnish

Mint Julep

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 6 to 8 sprigs of mint
  • 1 tsp sugar

Directions

  • Put mint and sugar in cocktail shaker
  • Add shaved ice and bourbon
  • Shake and pour into rocks glass
  • Garnish with a mint leaf

Mojito

Ingredients

  • 2 oz light rum
  • 1 lime, halved
  • .5 oz simple syrup
  • 8 to 10 mint leaves
  • Club soda

Directions

  • Muddle mint leaves and simple syrup at the bottom of a tall glass until you can smell the mint
  • Squeeze both lime halves into the glass, and leave one in the glass
  • Add rum
  • Stir
  • Fill with ice and top with club soda
  • Garnish with a mint sprig
