Even the most mature and best-behaved adults sometimes need reminding that family isn’t about competition.
Looking for a fun, lighthearted family comedy film this holiday season? Check out Daddy’s Home, which releases in theatres nationwide on Christmas Day. This will be the perfect film to bring the whole family to see—but remember, no fighting about who gets which seat at the theater! No one wants a holiday disaster because the grownups were being less mature than the children!
Every family has their fair share of holiday “disaster” stories. And even though I grew up in a loving household, that doesn’t mean that it wasn’t free from competition from the most adoring of parents. Which parent bought the better/bigger present? Even as a parent now, that happens. Sometimes unintentionally, and sometimes you KNOW that your gift will be the favorite or hit of the day. And let’s be honest, especially as the kids start to round the corner into the years when parents are no longer cool, you want all the little wins that you can score. Completely rational.
In Daddy’s Home, the two dads vying for affection are ALL about those little wins. Daddy’s Home follows Brad, a mild-mannered radio executive (played by Will Ferrell) who is working hard to be the best step-dad he can to his new wife’s two children. Unfortunately, some unforeseen complications arise when their freewheeling birth father Dusty (played by Mark Wahlberg) arrives “home” for the holidays, forcing him to compete for the affection of the kids in ways he hadn’t really imagined.
Daddy’s Home is sure to be the most epic battle of the dads this holiday season, all because they both want to make sure their kids know who loves them the most. At the end of the day, it’s pretty clear both Brad and Dusty love the kids very much, like all parents do. Share the love and a laugh with your family this Christmas and go see this hilarious film.
