Fans of Disney Pixar Inside Out are going to love Inside Out 2. With new emotions at the console and new stories, we’re back inside the mind of Riley—this time in her teenage years.
I love the ins and outs of the movie-making process, including all the fun facts you learn along the way. At a recent press event, I had the opportunity to learn some Disney Pixar Inside Out 2 fun facts about the making of one of the scenes, one where a new emotion is introduced.
MEET ANXIETY — Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as a new Emotion shows up unexpectedly. And Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, isn’t the type of Emotion who will take a back seat either. Disney Pixar Inside Out 2 Fun Facts
In the scene titled “Puberty Alarm,” it’s a big day for Riley, and well, puberty hits. This funny scene introduces a new emotion for her and it’s hilarious, as is the introduction of the alarm. However, in one final scene that ends up being 3 minutes and 24 seconds, a LOT goes into the creation of it. Here are a few fun facts about what went into the making of the final scene.
Over the course of almost 3 years:
- 3,988 storyboards were drawn
- 408 storyboards were sent to animation
- 54 animated shots were created
- 550 dialogues were recorded
- 78 lines in the final script
- The final scene is 3 minutes 24 seconds, but the longest was almost 8 minutes at one point!
- More than 230 cuts of this scene alone exist.
