Looking for an easy yet delightful dessert? How about sous vide poached pears? While I made this recipe using the Sous Vide cooking method in my Sous Vide Supreme Demi Water Oven, you could easy poach the pears on the stove top, too.
Sous Vide White Wine Maple Poached Pears Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 pears
- 2 cups white wine
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 1 ¼ cups sugar
Directions
Fill your Sous Vide Supreme Demi Water Oven and preheat the water to 176 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place all of the liquid ingredients in a saucepan. Simmer and reduce sauce until about 20% of the liquid has cooked down.
Peel and core the pears.
Place the sauce and pears into a Sous Vide vacuum-sealable bag and stir. Seal the bag according to the manufacturer’s directions, but don’t use the vacuum, just seal. You can also use one of the zip style pouches instead.
Place the sealed bag in the Sous Vide Supreme Demi water oven and cook for 1 hour.
Carefully remove the bag from the water oven. Cut open the bag and serve the pears with a drizzle of sauce on top.
