Xfinity kept me sane during our pandemic summer. I know, it sounds a bit much, doesn’t it? But, it’s essentially the truth. Xfinity offers so much content—and content we’ve never even thought to explore or knew existed—that we kept ourselves sane during a summer of quarantine.
6 Ways to Stay Sane During a Quarantine
Thanks to Xfinity for sponsoring this conversation about the new Peacock streaming service. As always, all opinions are our own.
Watch baking shows on Xfinity
My girls love to bake. The “Kids Baking Championship” and “Cake Wars” on The Food Network are two of the shows my girls could not get enough of. If they aren’t streaming those, they’re streaming an episode of “Nailed It!” on Netflix on the Xfinity X1.
Catch up on your favorite series on Xfinity Stream App
With the Xfinity Stream App, I can catch my favorite live TV shows on the go or while I’m traveling at a later date on my streaming device. So if I’m hiding out in my bedroom because I can’t listen to one more BTS song or kid argument, I can stream a show like “Wynonna Earp” (thank you, SyFy for Season 4 now airing!) or watch a movie like The Invisible Man from my phone or iPad.
Hone our DIY skills with Xfinity shows
Please tell me you love Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman as much as I do? “Making It” on NBC is so good! I can watch all of the current and past episodes on Xfinity. I can hone my DIY skills while getting a good laugh. THIS is the medicine we all need right now. This is a perfect way to stay sane during quarantine.
If you really want to nail that DIY improvement, the DIY Network has a slew of shows you can learn from, as well as some of the shows on HGTV (my daughter is obsessed with the Property Brothers).
Watch old favorites or old movies you haven’t seen on Xfinity
Did you know that included free in your Xfinity are hundreds of movies? Watch some of your timeless classics and favorites or watch something you’ve never seen before. Introduce your kids to something new!
I rewatched a whole bunch of the Marvel movies this summer (Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Thor: Ragnarok) Birds of Prey, Invisible Man, Deadpool, Bad Moms, and more.
Cook with Xfinity
One of the things I love about cooking shows is that I actually learn techniques and get ideas for meals. Xfinity has so many cooking shows on a variety of cooking and food channels like Food Network and Cooking Channel.
I love Food Network’s “Rachel Ray” and her 30-minute meals. Just because I’m home all day because of pandemic life doesn’t mean I want to spend 2 hours in the kitchen making dinner.
Travel with Xfinity
And as a traveler, I can’t get enough of “Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives.” I love catching up on episodes and visiting some of the establishments in my journeys. I’ve also discovered Cooking Channel’s “Food Paradise,” a tour of must-see eateries across the country and one-of-a-kind dining experiences. It’s basically what I DO when I’m traveling. I can’t wait to get back to that again! This has definitely helped me to stay sane during quarantine.
